A series inspired by the memoir of the same title.
PREMISE
A comedy-drama, 8 x 25-minute episodes set in L.A. in 1986.
Season 1 is set primarily in L.A, and centres around a dyslexic pop culture street poet, who finds himself on the run from a Manchester Mob controlled Rock’ n ’Roll band, after he ends the career of its lead singer in a fight.
Fast moving with direct addresses to camera.
The empathy is for the free-spirited protagonist who walks a fine line between good and bad fortune, as he is forced to flee his native Manchester (UK) just as his poetry career is about to take off.
With luck and street-smarts on his side he finds himself living illegally in Los Angeles.
Running with words through seedy Hollywood 1986, brushing shoulders with the weird, infamous and the famous, as he tries to outrun his past
